Love Him

Oh love Him Who has lifted thee
From horror past the grave.
Who’s endless mercy by decree
Set thee apart to save.

Love Him Who’s Ransom made a way
When no way could there be,
To rescue one so far astray
Now near to God as He.

A thousand ways your straying mind
Has mercy thus forgot.
But still it Reigns and flawless finds
It’s way to those He bought.

The blood of Calvary yet speaks
And heaven can’t but hear;
And grant the prayer the sinner seeks
Till troubled conscience clears.

You saints thus purchased, thus redeemed,
Your love to Him here vent,
Who reached so low with crimson stream,
Where hope made you repent.

Wait not for Heaven’s crown to send
Your grateful songs of love;
He’s worthy now as much as when
You perfect sing above.

Breathe in sweet heaven’s promises,
Breath out your songs of praise,
Who found the well where mercy lives
To drink of Him Who saves.
