Who Holds Your Bible?
(Written as a song, I am including it here, simply because it remains poetic, and it is hoped that it will be encouraging and uplifting to believers)
Vs. 1
Looking back it seems I’ve never understood this life.
Looking forward, even still, I’m lost when I have tried.
I’d heard there was a book that had the answer true for all.
I saw one on a book store shelf, it seemed as if it called

Chorus 1….
Who holds your bible, friend, is a thing that we must ask
And whether he’s the same man now, as held it in the past.
Unchanging rock of truth, it changes everything instead.
And a different man will hold that book, not many years ahead.

Vs.2
In time it seemed like I saw things I’d never seen before.
A substitute, a ransome paid, a Saviour of my soul.
A life of sin, was cleansed within,  and wars began to rage….
Sure seemed to me new eyes were reading as I turned each page.

Chorus 2….
Who holds your bible, friend, is a thing that we must ask
And whether he’s the same man now, as held it in the past.
Unchanging rock of truth, it changes everything instead.
And a different man now holds that book, with new heart & head.

Vs. 3
Now I’ve had many bibles and it’s happened every time.
That a different man will hold the cover than when first twas mine.
One day pure grace will carry cross the veil for one last change.
Forever with the One Who spoke, Who’s word forever reigns.

Bridge
Look into the mirror friend, and tell yourself the truth…
Does the same man now hold that book, as held it in your youth?
Answer that any way you please, but God is not as man.
His eyes look where the rest cannot, before Him you must stand.

Chorus 3….
Who holds your bible, friend, is a thing that we must ask
And whether he’s the same man now, as held it in the past.
Unchanging rock of truth, it changes everything instead.
Does a different man now hold your bible than when it first was read?
