The Love of God
The Love of God
This love divine that reaches me
To rescue from so low a hell
Fills me with confidence to flee
And taste salvations healing well.
Oh weight of love there pressing down
Upon my heart all thanks to send;
In grateful stream, each time I sound
The depth that pardon’s blood has penned.
My little brook of love sincere
Now runs its course to endless sea
There swallowed up and lost in cheer
Of mercy’s vast infinity.
Oh grant my feeble worship find
It’s way into your listening ear
Traced from this heart until it winds
Unto the wounds that brought me near.
