Lost & Found
Lost in the cogs of time’s machine,
Still asking not where you might fit.
The answer shunned when e’re t’was seen,
Your only guide dark passion’s whip.
The Light despised, the whip embraced,
What but dread judgment would be found?
Had not One come Who stealthy raced
To all your chains with power unbound.
And no more deaf, the precious sound
Of hope and promise touched your ear;
Then watched as death’s late reign was bound,
Replaced with joy and godly fear.
What strangely blind you once had shunned,
Now view in hues before unknown;
There irresistibly were won
As saving love there made its home.
Your sins all pardoned, reconciled
Now by the final only judge;
And all that still within defiles
Is swept off by His cleansing blood.
The One Who’s face you dreaded most,
Now without fright you view in peace.
And even when His rod draws close
A father’s love you clearly see.
This is the thing that lifts you high
When earthly woe is gathered round:
What rage of hell can hope defy
While Jesus wears His saving crown?
Believer all these things are yours ….
The gift of faith, its trial in time;
Go worship in a watching world
Within the crucible divine.
